A balance correction is a special transaction that counts as neither income nor expense. The Balance correction category doesn't exist at first: Macuta creates it with your first transfer, when you create an account with a Starting balance, or the first time you correct an account's balance (edit the account and choose Correct total balance).
What it's for
- Transfers between accounts and balance fixes, which aren't income or expenses.
- Refunds, returns or movements you don't want to class as income or expense.
- Tracking credit card accounts without changing your money in and out totals. See Credit cards.
You can edit the category (name, colour, icon) and it keeps its special behaviour.
