Long-press the (+) button and choose Photograph receipt: take a photo with the camera or pick an image or a PDF. Macuta reads the total, date, shop and category with AI, and prepares the transaction for you to confirm. The photo is kept with the transaction only on this device, encrypted, as proof: it doesn't go with sync and doesn't show on your other devices (only in a data file you export).
Reading needs an account and internet. The first time, Macuta asks for permission: the image is sent to Macuta and to Anthropic (the AI provider) only to be read, and it isn't kept. You can turn it off in Settings › Privacy and security, Read receipts and statements with AI.
Every plan reads receipts, with a monthly limit: Copper 5, Silver 30 and Gold 100. The count is per account, across all devices, and restarts on the 1st; an image that isn't a receipt still counts as a reading, and there is a maximum of 30 readings a day.
